The Island Bus photographic Friday 24/08/2012

Today, we had a fantastic first music recording session for The Island Bus with some of Tilos’s talented kids.

The Island Bus soundtrack will be a mix of traditional island pieces, played the traditional way and then re-interpreted/re-mixed by musicians, composers and DJs with non-Greek background or musical taste.

So today Aristotelis, Konstantinos and Antonis gave us some local groove on the lyra,…

…lute…

– and mandolin.

The mandolin is not really a Tilos instrument – but that’s part of the Island Bus’s “fusion” tunes: local kids playing with Tilos’s “imported” talent.

Έτοιμο το μικρόφωνο – ένα, δύο, τρία – πάμε!

Dennis joined in on the guitar and while we had John in the makeshift recording cabin behind the fly screen in control of buttons and mix… we also let him out for a bit of mandolin playing.

Thank you, boys, for the great tunes! Ευχαριστώ πολύ, παιδιά, για τα τέλεια τραγούδια!

I’m looking forward to the next session with more classical Greek music and more amazing local talent!
